Join the Team Rewriting the Rules of How Legal Work Gets Done A venture-backed legal services company is reimagining how legal work gets done — using AI to deliver faster, higher-quality transactional work at a fraction of traditional cost. This is not an incremental efficiency play. It's a fundamentally different model for how legal services are built, priced, and delivered, and we're looking for a Senior Associate / Counsel with an M&A background to help build it. You'll practice transactional law day to day — running deals, working directly with clients, managing matters with real independence — but you'll also be part of defining something bigger: what it looks like when AI is built into the core of how legal work happens, not bolted onto the old model. Early team members have outsized influence over the tools, workflows, and client experience that will define the firm as it scales. The role is based in New York City and works closely with the firm's leadership team, who are shaping the firm's overall approach to AI-enabled legal delivery. The ideal candidate brings 6-8 years of hands-on transactional experience — whether from BigLaw, in-house at an acquisitive company, or the buy-side at a fund — along with genuine curiosity about how technology can change legal practice, not just speed up the parts that already exist. You're comfortable operating with independence in an early-stage environment, and you want your deal experience to help build something rather than simply execute within an existing structure.
