Job description
About Unity Advisory
Unity Advisory is a pure-play, experience-led CFO advisory firm providing integrated finance, commercial, tax and deals support. We are free from audit conflicts and AI-enabled by design, combining deep technical expertise with automation, analytics and AI embedded into the delivery of every engagement. We are building an alternative to traditional advisory firms, focused on clarity over complexity, outcomes over hours, and practical advice delivered at pace for CFOs making high-consequence decisions.
The Role
We are seeking a commercially minded and analytically strong Senior Manager to join our Deals teams. This high-impact role will work closely with our corporate clients and internal leadership to deliver complex due diligence engagements and post-deal value creation programmes. You'll bring proven experience from a Big 4 or leading consultancy firm, with a track record of owning end-to-end buy-side and sell-side FDD assignments from scoping through to final findings — getting into the numbers, managing the team on the ground, and making sure clients get clear, well-supported findings on time. As a senior member of the team, you'll lead engagements, develop talent, and drive the evolution of our AI-enabled FDD offering. This is a hybrid role based in our Mayfair office and offers the opportunity to shape the direction of a modern, tech-enabled diligence and value creation practice from the ground up.
What You'll Do
- Lead complex buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence engagements across a variety of sectors.
- Oversee end-to-end project delivery, from initial scoping to reporting, stakeholder presentations, and recommendations.
- Partner with Private Equity and corporate clients to assess deal drivers, KPIs, underlying earnings, working capital, and cash flows.
- Identify and quantify risks, synergies, and improvement opportunities during both diligence and post-deal phases.
- Interview target company management and build working relationships with clients, private equity investors, and other advisors on the deal.
- Support and develop value capture plans, including margin enhancement, pricing strategies, working capital optimisation, and operational efficiency.
- Draft and quality-check diligence deliverables so they're accurate, clear, and ready for Partner sign-off.
- Collaborate with internal data and AI specialists to integrate advanced analytics and automation into our FDD delivery model.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with investors, management teams, and third-party advisors.
- Contribute to business development activities, proposals, and thought leadership.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to shaping a high-performing, growth-focused team culture.
What You Bring
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in Financial Due Diligence or Transaction Services from a Big 4 or top-tier consultancy environment.
- Proven ability to lead multiple transaction engagements simultaneously across buy-side and sell-side mandates.
- A track record of owning engagements end-to-end, from scoping through to final findings.
- Strong analytical and financial skills, with a deep understanding of accounting principles and commercial drivers.
- Track record in delivering actionable insights and value creation strategies post-deal.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, including senior stakeholder engagement and reporting.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the agility to thrive in a non-hierarchical, fast-growth environment.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) highly preferred.
Nice to Have
- Experience in Private Equity environments or PE-backed portfolio companies.
- Exposure to international transactions and cross-border coordination.
