Job description

Company info

NewLimit is a biotechnology company working to radically extend human healthspan. We’re developing medicines to treat age-related diseases by reprogramming the epigenome, a new therapeutic mechanism to restore regenerative potential in aged and diseased cells. We leverage functional genomics, pooled perturbation screening, and machine learning models to unravel the biology of epigenetic aging and disease using experiments of unprecedented scale.

This critical role designs and executes in vivo studies to evaluate pioneering epigenetic reprogramming therapeutics across our entire portfolio. As a subject matter expert in nonclinical and PK/PD study design, you will lead in vivo pharmacology strategies, collaborate cross-functionally with therapeutic area teams, and directly drive therapeutic candidate selection.

As a Senior Scientist/Scientist on our team, you will:

  • Design, execute, and interpret in vivo pharmacology studies (PK/PD, efficacy, dose-response) across multiple disease models and therapeutic programs
  • Collaborate with Epigenetic Editing, Predictive Modeling, and other therapeutic area teams to evaluate epigenetic reprogramming payloads in relevant animal models
  • Develop and refine animal models of aging and age-related disease to support translational studies
  • Oversee study design, protocol development, and CRO/vendor relationships for in vivo studies
  • Analyze and interpret in vivo data (PK/PD, biomarkers, functional endpoints) to drive pre-clinical decision making
  • Contribute to regulatory-enabling study design and documentation as programs progress toward clinical

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in pharmacology, physiology, biology or a related field or equivalent industry experience (5+ years for Scientist; 8+ years for Senior Scientist)

  • Experience with study design, dosing regimens, and route-of-administration selection
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting in vivo pharmacology data to inform program decisions
  • Experience leading project workflows and providing technical mentorship to junior laboratory staff
  • History of contributing to a drug development program at the pre-clinical or clinical development stage

Nice to have

  • Experience with liver biology, hepatic disease models, or hepatocyte-directed delivery
  • Experience with nucleic acid or viral vector delivery in vivo
  • Experience with GLP-enabling or IND-enabling study design
