Job description
HexCoded is an AI video studio: you should be able to make anything you can imagine. We are a very small team building the tools that are reshaping how video, image and audio get made. Check out hexcoded.ai
What you'll actually work on
- Make the content. Reels, shorts, posts, hooks, thumbnails, captions. Most of it made in HexCoded itself, posted in public.
- Run our editors. We work with a bench of freelance video editors. You write the brief, pick the reference, chase the deadline, and send it back when it isn't right. Content nobody chases doesn't get made.
- Fill the Discord. We have one. It's nearly empty. Getting people in there and keeping it alive is yours — inviting them, welcoming them by name, starting the conversation on the quiet days, and telling the rest of us what those people actually want from us.
- Write the emails. All of them. The hello when someone signs up. The nudge that gets them to make their first ad. The note to people who drifted away. The announcement when we launch something. You write it, you send it.
- Write the ads. You'll sit with the ad account, see which ads are doing well, and write the next batch. You won't control the budget. You'll be the one who knows why the winner won.
- Watch the numbers. Views, saves, Discord joins, replies, signups. Not for a report. Because you can't get better at this without knowing which of your posts worked and which died.
What you'll bring
- An account you've actually run. Yours, a friend's, a college club's, a page about something you love. Send us links and real numbers, including the posts that flopped.
- Taste you can explain. Show you two thumbnails and you can say which one wins and why, in a sentence. "It just feels better" is where you start, not where you stop.
- You already build things with AI. Not a chat tab you ask questions in. Actual work. You've had a model rename two hundred clips at once, pull a week of numbers into one place, write thirty versions of a caption so you could pick the best one, or make some small thing that saves you an hour every day. You'll do a lot of that here, including in Claude Code, which is Claude running on your computer where it can work on your files directly. You don't need to know it already. You do need to have used AI to save yourself real time, and be able to show us what you made.
- Short, clear writing. Most of what you make is a few words a stranger reads once and judges us on.
- You're properly online. You knew what happened on Instagram this week before anyone told you. You can name a format that died and say what killed it.
Why work at One Impression
- Fast-growing category leader: Working at the intersection of AI and the creator economy, with a strong existing brand roster and international footprint.
- Engineering culture signals: Modern tech stack (Docker, Protobuf, Figma, Hotjar, HubSpot Forms), with active openings for senior backend engineering (SDE-2), senior frontend (App), and senior product management — suggesting a product-led build phase.
- On-site culture: Positions are on-site in Gurugram; company maintains multiple offices in India plus US presence.
- Employee experience: Employer rating 3.8/5 from 181 reviews, with compensation rated 3.8, culture 3.7, and career growth 3.8. Work-life balance scores lower at 3.5.
- Talent flow: Employees come from ByteDance, Deloitte, Meesho, Times Internet, and major influencer-marketing agencies; alumni go on to AnyMind Group, Cheil India, and Pocket FM — indicating a strong talent network in the influencer/creator tech space.
- Caution for job seekers: Headcount declined ~18% YoY and job postings are down ~83% year-over-year (as of latest data), suggesting the team has contracted after earlier expansion.
