Neura Robotics at a glance

German cognitive-robotics company building humanoid and collaborative robots that see, hear, feel, and learn to work alongside people.

NEURA Robotics designs cognitive robots (humanoids, collaborative arms, and mobile bases) plus the AI and platform that run them, all built in-house. Its flagship 4NE1 humanoid targets industrial workflows and everyday assistance, and the Neuraverse platform links deployed robots into a shared learning network.

Job description

ROBOT SOFTWARE & SYSTEM TESTING

  • Test and validate the full software stack powering MiPA, from navigation and manipulation to AI-driven behaviors and human-robot interaction.
  • Verify functionality across robot software releases, ensuring stability, reliability, and performance in different environments and use cases.
  • Execute manual and automated tests for distributed, real-time robotic systems running on embedded and cloud-connected platforms.
  • Work closely with software, robotics, AI, and system engineers to identify issues, reproduce defects, and support root-cause analysis.
  • Contribute to the validation of safety-related features and help ensure compliance with product quality and reliability requirements.
  • Support field testing and real-world validation of robotic capabilities in environments such as homes, care facilities, and industrial settings.

TEST AUTOMATION & QUALITY ASSURANCE

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test suites for software, system, and integration testing.
  • Define test strategies, test plans, and acceptance criteria for new features and software releases.
  • Analyze test results, identify regressions, performance bottlenecks, and unexpected system behavior.
  • Create and maintain test documentation, test reports, and traceability between requirements, test cases, and validation results.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and continuous validation workflows.
  • Continuously improve testing processes, coverage, tools, and methodologies to increase quality and efficiency across the product lifecycle.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION

  • Partner with software developers, robotics engineers, AI researchers, and product teams throughout the development cycle.
  • Help ensure that new features are released with high quality, reliability, and safety standards.
  • Contribute to the overall stability and performance of MiPA by providing structured feedback and validation insights.
  • Support a culture of quality by championing testing best practices and continuous improvement.

What we look forward to

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field (Mechatronics/Robotics background preferred)
  • Proven experience in software testing, QA engineering, or test automation
  • Prior exposure to robotics, embedded systems, or hardware-software integrated products
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment alongside hardware, software, and AI teams
  • Solid domain knowledge of robotics systems – kinematics, autonomous navigation, sensor integration (LiDAR, ultrasonic, force/torque, vision), actuators
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies (unit, integration, system, regression testing)
  • Proficiency in Python and/or C++
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., pytest, BDD)
  • Familiarity with ROS/ROS2 and robotics software architecture
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills

Nice to have skills

  • Experience testing in simulation environments (e.g., Gazebo, Isaac Sim, MuJoCo)
  • Understanding of real-time systems and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing
  • Experience with safety-critical systems testing standards (e.g., ISO 13849, IEC 61508)
  • Exposure to human-robot interaction (HRI) testing, multimodal input validation (voice/gesture/touch), or AI/ML-driven behavior validation
  • Knowledge of CAN bus, EtherCAT, or other robotics communication protocols
  • Experience with cloud-based test infrastructure or fleet-level testing for robots
