Job description

ABOUT VOOMA

Enterprise software is undergoing a fundamental transformation. The world is shifting from systems of record to systems of automation: AI co-workers that work alongside logistics teams to help them win and move more freight.

Vooma's mission is to give the people who keep America's economy moving the best tools to win and execute freight. We are building the AI orchestration platform for the logistics industry, from quote to cash, automating repetitive work so teams can focus on service, speed, and scale. Vooma is growing fast with a lean team, supporting some of the most prominent industry players, including Echo, MoLo, Project44, Evans, Sunset Transportation, and more.

Vooma is backed by Index Ventures, Craft Ventures, Y Combinator, and executives and founders from across the logistics industry.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a rare opportunity to join an experienced, high-performing team at an inflection point, early enough to have an outsized impact and learn firsthand how an innovative, AI-native company operates.

The Deployment Strategist owns customer relationships end-to-end, from pre-sale through long-term adoption, acting as the bridge between what customers need and what we build. You'll also dedicate roughly 20% of your time to building and refining Vooma's deployment operating system, pioneering AI-native workflows at the bleeding edge of what's possible.

This role is right for you if you're ambitious, entrepreneurial, and energized by ownership. You'll work directly alongside customers and the engineering team, getting deep in the details to drive outcomes. The best candidates bounce fluidly between high-level strategy and fine-grained execution, doing whatever it takes to get customers to success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the full customer relationship and implementation lifecycle, from pre-sale through post-go-live, including enterprise accounts
  • Partner with customers to co-create AI roadmaps and transformation plans aligned to their business goals
  • Build executive-level relationships and serve as a strategic thought partner, then roll up your sleeves to work deep in the details alongside customers and the engineering team
  • Design, track, and optimize success metrics to ensure customers realize clear ROI
  • Drive cross-functional coordination across GTM, Engineering, and Product
  • Spend roughly 20% of your time building and refining our deployment operating system, pushing the frontier of how we operate as an AI-native company

MUST HAVES

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in consulting, product management, account management, customer success, or a similar high-output role
  • Whatever it takes mentality and low ego; you move between strategy and execution without hesitation
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills across executive and operational stakeholders
  • Deep customer orientation and genuine drive to get into the details to deliver impact
  • Excitement about operating at the forefront of AI and a hunger to constantly adapt to new workflows

NICE TO HAVES

  • Experience in logistics, supply chain, or enterprise SaaS
  • Exposure to AI/ML products or solutions
  • Startup experience

COMPENSATION

  • The opportunity to join a formidable team early enough to have an outsized impact and learn how an innovative business operates holistically
  • Competitive compensation and significant equity upside
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage

This role is based in person in San Francisco, CA, with approximately 10-20% travel.

Why work at Vooma

  • Culture: Values include “Bias to action” and “Tag, you’re it” — emphasizing ownership, speed, and collaboration.
  • Team composition: A mix of technologists (founders from Stanford, Kodiak, Uber ATG) and operators (Bain, private equity-backed logistics). Talent sources include Bain, Flexport, Stanford, and YC.
  • Engineering culture: Strong technical foundation — the CTO was a founding engineer at a $250M-funded autonomous trucking startup. Engineering team makes up ~31% of headcount.
  • Remote/Hybrid: Based in San Francisco, CA with a presence in Palo Alto, CA. Some roles appear remote-friendly; specific policy varies by role.
  • Notable perks: Early-stage equity, opportunity to work on AI agents in a $200B+ addressable market (60% of freight orders still come via email/text/PDF). The company is well-funded ($18.45M) by top-tier investors.
  • Recent departures: Founding GTM Luke Walquist left in April 2026 — the team is actively rebuilding go-to-market leadership.
