Responsibilities:
- Parallelize and optimize accounting and financial calculations using Apache Spark
- Develop and maintain backend REST web services
- Integrate applications through predefined interface and contract agreements
- Manage and improve batch-based data processing workflows
- Optimize data orchestration processes with a focus on performance and stability
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing and production rollout
- Support DevOps automation and continuous deployment practices
- Collaborate with global teams across Budapest, London, New York, Montreal and India
Requirements:
- Strong development experience with Java, preferably Spring
- Experience with Scala or a comparable programming language
- Solid knowledge of SQL and relational databases, such as SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase or DB2
- Experience with Big Data technologies or repositories such as Hadoop or MongoDB
- Understanding of modern SDLC methodologies and Agile practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in an international environment
Nice to Have:
- Experience with UNIX/Linux application debugging
- Experience with DevOps automation tools and scripting, such as AutoSys, UNIX Shell, Perl or Python
- Previous experience in finance, accounting or banking
- Knowledge of business reporting, data science or data processing concepts
