Job description

About the Client

This client established Certification, Industrial & E-Commerce group (AUD 15M) based in Australia, employed through Outsourced Staff. You'll work closely with the Director and be supported throughout your engagement by Outsourced Staff's Client & Staff Success Manager. Please note: AI tools may support parts of our recruitment process, but all hiring decisions are made by humans. We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Sales Support & Business Development Specialist to own the certification course sales pipeline for a growing Certification, Industrial & E-Commerce group based in Australia. You'll be the first point of contact for every inbound inquiry, keeping quotes, orders and long-cycle approvals moving so no warm lead is ever left unanswered.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Inbound Inquiry & Sales Coordination

- Monitor the generic inquiries inbox daily and action promptly

- Provide a call-first response to every inbound inquiry

- Qualify leads and book seats on open certification courses

- Take and process orders, typically ranging from AUD 2,000 to AUD 20,000 in value

  1. Quoting & Pipeline Follow-Up

- Send quotes and follow up on all outstanding quotes

- Follow up on every quoted inquiry within one week

- Manage long-cycle follow-up on defence company approvals, which can take up to four months

- Keep the Trello board accurate and up to date, especially the bookings tab

  1. Course & Account Coordination

- Drive seat fills for the annual Perth course

- Absorb the documented tasks currently handled by the Newcastle-based contractor (approximately 20 hours/week)

- Handle overflow inquiries from the e-commerce store

  1. Backup & Business Development Tasks (quiet periods)

- Database cleaning and hygiene

- Lapsed lead re-engagement campaigns (e.g. a "we're still here" outreach to the last ~3,000 leads)

- Product self-education across all five certification courses

- LinkedIn outbound prospecting (training provided; later phase of the role)

  1. Marketing Support (secondary, as capacity allows)

- General marketing support during a current maternity-leave gap

- Assist with catalogues and social media management

- Contribute to blog articles related to the certification courses

Key Skills & Experience

- Strong inside sales, sales support, or customer service experience

- Experience processing orders and quotes with high accuracy, ideally in the AUD 2,000–20,000 range

- Experience using CRM or task-board tools (e.g. Trello, HubSpot, Zoho)

- Confident, professional phone manner for inbound and outbound calls

- Experience managing long sales or approval cycles (corporate, government, or defence procurement a plus)

- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy are essential

- Advanced organisational and time management skills

- Ability to manage multiple priorities across sales, admin and occasional marketing tasks

- Minimum 2–3 years experience in a similar sales support, inside sales, or coordination role

- Experience with e-commerce order support or basic marketing/social media coordination (nice to have)

Ideal Candidate Attributes

- Highly organised and detail-oriented

- Proactive and able to work independently

- Confident communicator with a consultative, call-first approach

- Persistent without being pushy — comfortable with long follow-up cycles

- Quick learner with strong system adaptability

- Personable, with genuine warmth and good energy
