AthenaPsych is a New York State mental health-approved provider of community mental health services for children, adults, and families with behavioral and emotional challenges. Are You a Good Fit For Us? The Recruiting Intern supports the Talent Acquisition team in identifying, attracting, and engaging top talent for Athena. This role offers hands-on experience in the recruitment process, from posting job openings and sourcing candidates to coordinating interviews and supporting onboarding. The intern will contribute to creating a positive candidate experience while learning best recruitment practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with posting job openings across various job boards, social media channels, and internal platforms.
  • Support the sourcing process by researching and identifying potential candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, and other databases.
  • Screen resumes and forward qualified candidates to recruiters or hiring managers.
  • Help coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring teams.
  • Participate in candidate communication, including sending confirmation emails and follow-ups.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment spreadsheets.
  • Assist with background verification as needed.
  • Support new hire onboarding processes, including preparing offer letters and welcome materials.
  • Assist with recruitment marketing initiatives to enhance employer branding.
  • Provide other administrative support to the Talent Acquisition team as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in recruitment, HR, and talent management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace.
  • 6 - 12 month commitment.
