Job description

Hiring: Controls Engineer Location: Wilmington, MA, on-site

Experience required: 5 Years Education level: Bachelor’s degree Industry: Industrial Automation

We have a Controls Engineering position available in our Wilmington, MA office. This person will support controls engineering project requirements involving PLC programming, DCS programming, HMI/SCADA programming, database management, control panel design, instrumentation specification, engineering documentation support, check-out support, and commissioning assistance.

Must Have:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science is required. 5+ years with capabilities in:
  • PLC hardware/software (Rockwell Automation).
  • HMI/SCADA platforms (Rockwell Automation, Inductive Automation Ignition).
  • DCS platform, specifically, recent Emerson DeltaV experience/knowledge
  • Instrumentation experience is a must
  • Experience with standard programming languages: VBA, .NET, SQL (for HMI/SCADA).
  • Conceptualize, detail, and implement control systems for industrial processes and machinery.
  • Develop control system architecture and select components.
  • Create schematic diagrams and system documentation.
  • Program controllers (PLC, DCS, RTU).
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with industrial networking (fiber, wired, wireless) and industrial protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus).
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics, power distribution under 480VAC, control panels, NEC standards.
  • Proficiency in automation protocols: HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Traditional I/O, Profibus, Ethernet I/P, OPC, Modbus TCP/IP.
  • Leadership and client relation skills.
  • Familiar with S88 Batch.
  • Familiar with life science regulatory requirements (cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11).
  • Familiar with GAMP5, System/Software Development Life Cycle, validation.
  • Familiar with databases (SQL).
